Book Report #156 Smart Women

Smart Women by Judy Blume

I love Judy Blume! I read her to death growing up.

I was at a great store called Half Price Books the other day, and they were selling TWO Judy Blume books in one for $7. Wifey and Smart Women. A deal you can't refuse, right?

I read Smart Women immediately. I love that it was set in Boulder, CO.

Unfortunately, that's about all I loved. I couldn't get into the story. There was this female friend triangle, and then one of them fell in love with one's ex-husband who just moved to town to be near his daughter. The one who had been married to the guy lost her mind and ended up in the looney bin. But her ex-husband had gotten into a car accident where their ten year-old son died, so maybe she deserves a break. That might drive anyone insane.

General consensus: Not special like I expected it to be. Didn't find the women to be that smart.
