Book Review #21

Prodigal Summer: A Novel by Barbara Kingsolver

I f#*$&# loved it. I loved being swept away to a place where we focused on something outside ourselves and actually found meaning. I loved her descriptions that allowed me to hear and feel and see rural Kentucky. I loved how she made me give a damn about each and every character, even if in real life I might have found them utterly boring. I even loved how it wasn't perfect. And even though I felt like I was beaten over the head to love predators instead of prey, I could read this again every few years of my life and find something new and beautiful.

Time to read cover to cover: 3 days.
General consensus: Classic Kingsolver, I dare say her best
