Book Report #69 - The Life and Times of the Thunderbot Kid

The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid: A Memoir by Bill Bryson

Reading this memoir was a pure joy. I don't think I've ever had so much fun reading a book. Bryson has such a happy memory of his childhood and the way he writes it makes you laugh out loud. For the first couple hundred pages I was all set to take a vacation to Des Moines. By the end of the book I discovered that the Des Moines of the 1950s no longer exists so now I have half a mind to re-create it.

General consensus: When I read the last page I naturally turned back to the first to start all over again. You just don't want to leave this beautiful world!
